I inherited a big box of baseball cards. Where do I start?
Photos. You do not need to sort, identify or price anything first — that is our job and doing it wrong costs you money. Lay the cards out in batches, photograph them, and send them over. We will tell you what is in there.
Are my 1987 and 1990 cards worth anything?
Usually very little, and we would rather say so up front. Cards from roughly 1987 to 1994 were printed in huge quantities, so most are worth cents rather than dollars even in excellent condition. There are exceptions, and high-grade graded examples can still carry value — we check rather than assume.
What makes a vintage card valuable?
Player, year, set, and condition — roughly in that order, with condition mattering enormously for pre-1980 cardboard. Centering, corners, edges and surface all count. A well-centred card with sharp corners can be worth many times a soft-cornered copy of the same card.
Should I get cards graded before selling?
Usually not before you talk to us. Grading costs money per card and takes time, and it only pays off on a narrow band of cards. We will tell you which ones are plausibly worth submitting and which are not.
Do you buy complete sets and commons?
Yes. Complete vintage sets are often worth more together than broken up, and bulk commons still have value by weight or count. Include them — they usually travel with the cards that carry the real value.
